DICKERSON WEEKLY UPDATE
One More Week Of The Special Enrollment Period
There’s only one more week left of the Special Enrollment Period, which ends December 15th for coverage starting January 1st. The Dickerson team is here to get you through the busy season! Our Account Executives and Customer Service team are dedicated to making the process easier for you and your groups!
Updates To POP Documents For Family Glitch Rule Compliance
Following the new Family Glitch Rule, employers have the option to allow a new qualifying event for participants to change their enrollment mid-year to change to “employee-only” coverage. This change only applies if the participant’s family member drops group plan coverage to enroll in a qualified health plan through the Health Exchange.
If employers want to allow this option, they need to change their Premium Only Plan (POP) or Flexible Spending Account Documents. HR Service, Inc. updated its system allowing this option to appear in employer documents. To make this change, login to the system, indicate you want this option, and regenerate the document at: www.compliancelogin.com.

Operation Shout: New Rule for Medicare Marketing Calls
The “Medicare Program: Contract Year 2023 Policy and Technical Changes to the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Programs” rule includes new requirements for “marketing” calls. The rule intends to stop fraudulent or misleading actors – such as certain call centers – from manipulating Medicare beneficiaries. However, the rule’s overly broad scope also applies these new regulations to licensed agents and brokers. As a result, this rule needlessly impacts agents who are acting responsibly.
Senators Mike Rounds (R-SD) and James Risch (R-ID) introduced S. 5149, a bill that would exclude independent agents and brokers from the recording requirements in the Medicare Marketing Rule. Contact your Senators today and urge them to support S. 5149!
