4th Of July Schedule

In observance of the 4th of July, our office will be closing at 3pm on Friday, July 1st and closed on Monday, July 4th.  We will re-open on Tuesday, July 5th. Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July weekend!

SB 368 Effective July 1st

SB 368 takes effect July 1st and requires health plans to send enrollees updates every month showing how much they paid toward their annual deductible. It will also show how close they are to reaching out-of-pocket limits. The law will help people with costly chronic conditions who need to keep track of how much they owe, and healthy ones who rarely seek care but might suddenly encounter unexpected medical circumstances.

10 Tips To Control Your Health Care Costs

Health care costs continue to rise, but there are manageable things you can do to reduce how much you spend.

Please share these tips with your clients.

  1. Get Online – Use online tools to help review health care options, pharmacy benefits and coverage estimates.
  2. See preferred in-network providers – Save money by seeing providers in your plan’s preferred network.
  3. Choose the right care – A trip to the ER might be needed if you’re seriously injured or ill but a cheaper option like a clinic or urgent care can help for minor issues and illnesses.
  4. Think long-term – Some people go to the doctor for minor reasons once they meet their yearly deductible and that can impact the cost of care.
  5. Go generic – Generic drugs are the same as name brands and usually cost 30-70% less.
  6. Review your EOB – Billing mistakes can happen, so review your Explanation Of Benefits statement.
  7. Take care of yourself – Unhealthy habits like tobacco use and alcohol abuse can lead to health issues.
  8. Practice Prevention – Physical exams, vaccines, blood tests, and cancer screenings can prevent you from getting sick and detect a health issue before it gets serious.
  9. Eat right – A balanced diet can keep you healthier and lessens the chances of developing a serious illness.
  10. Exercise – 30 minutes a day is great for your health and weight.
