Amazon Launches Pharmacy Prescription Fulfillment Service

Amazon announced the much-anticipated launch of its new prescription fulfillment service, Amazon Pharmacy. The offering permits users to purchase prescription medications using Amazon.com, a new convenience that may upend the pharmacy industry. It also includes free, two-day shipping for Amazon Prime members. Customers are required to sign up for Amazon Pharmacy and set up a profile by providing basic information. Users will be prompted to list current medications as well as health conditions or allergies that may conflict with prescriptions. Click here to visit the site.

With a vaccine that’s 95% effective, Pfizer seeks emergency authorization

In their final analysis of their coronavirus vaccine, Pfizer and partner BioNTech found that their vaccine is more than 95% effective. Because they reached this key safety milestone, this will allow the company to apply for the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authorization within the coming days. If the FDA gives this vaccine the green light, Pfizer will likely make history as the first company with an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine.

Due to rapid uptick in cases, most of California retightens coronavirus restrictions

On Monday, Governor Newsom announced that due to a rapid uptick in coronavirus cases, most counties must close nonessential indoor businesses. The number in daily positive cases has doubled in the past 10 days, which is the fastest increase California has seen since the beginning of the pandemic. 41 counties in the state are now in the purple tier, which indicates the highest level of widespread risk. In the purple tier, nonessential indoor businesses will have to close. Over the summer, California seemed to make progress in controlling the spread of the virus, but in recent weeks, that has changed, with total confirmed cases in the state passing one million.
